How to use PowerPoint Effectively in a college

There are nine steps about using the PowerPoint presentation. It is all about how to present in college.
1. After you've researched your topic extensively, outline your speech on index cards or type it out if you need to have the entire thing written word-for-word.
2. Break down the content of the speech into its main points and sub-points. The specific organizational format you use will depend on your subject matter and the length and complexity of your presentation.
3. As you begin using Power point, plan your slides. Begin with a title slide, containing the presentation title, your name and the subject of the class. Follow with an introductory slide, giving an overview of the structure of your speech and then move into the body of the presentation. Use at least one slide for each main point, but the more important and substantial sub-points may warrant their own slides as well. Be flexible.
4. Find pictures, clip art and other graphics to make your slides visually interesting. Search the Internet or other digital sources. Use photos from books, magazines, journals or other printed material if you can scan them.
5. Put together your slides, add the pictures, proofread your text and save the project to both your hard disk and your USB flash drive .
6. Print out a copy of each slide on a separate sheet of paper. The slides should be horizontally oriented in "landscape" mode. Use these slide printouts as your points of reference while delivering the speech. Write any additional notes you might need in the margins ahead of time.
7. Practice your speech several times, so that you can deliver it smoothly, using only your slide printouts as a guide. If you can't do this, read the speech from your typed copy.
8. On the day of your presentation, bring the USB drive and the slide printouts with you to class. Upload your PowerPoint file from your USB drive to the classroom's computer.
9. When it's time to give your speech, start PowerPoint and load your project. Be sure the program is set up to move from one slide to the next with a single mouse click. Hold the mouse in one hand, your notes in the other and deliver your talk. When it's time to change slides, simply point the mouse at the computer and press the trigger. If the mouse doesn't have a trigger, press the left button.

• First of all, he tells us to go to the start button on your computer’s screen and click on the Microsoft Office power point button which will open PowerPoint for you.
• You’ll see a blank slide on the screen, and the first thing he tells us to do is to put your name and your topic on that slide which will be the title slide for your presentation.
• You move to the next slide, in which you will outline the main topics you are going to cover in your presentation so that the audience knows what you are going to talk about in your presentation.
• He talks about creating a title slide for each main topic that you put on the outline slide so that the audience knows when you are going to switching sections.
• Dave tells us that we can use different themes for our power point. We can click on the design tab; select a theme that you like to change the style of your presentation.
• He mentions that we should choose colors that stand out so that it’s easier for the audience to see what you wrote on the slide.
